The purpose of this work is to inform persons within the marine environment of the changing aspects and new innovations currently around the topic of anchors and anchoring practice. The need for operators to become familiar with new designs and experience different methods of employing anchors is essential for the continuation of a policy of safety at sea. This book cannot associate the reader with the sheer weight of elements described, nor can it replace practical experience. What it can do is introduce caution into a common element of shipboard operations.
