This book has undergone many changes since the publication of the 2nd edition. Regulations have become more stingent, and the focus has shifted to consideration of aquatic toxicity, priority pollutants, and volatile emissions from wastewater treatment plants. In addition, in-plant controls and waste minimization play a key roll in any industrial water pollution control program. This book reviews the basic theory and then stresses the application of the theory to the solution of real world industrial wastewater treatment. Alternative technologies are discussed where applicable.
