Standard Practice for the Use of Shrinkage-Compensating Concrete

Shrinkage-compensating concrete is used extensively in various types of construction to eliminate or minimize cracking caused by drying shrinkage. Although its characteristics are in most respects similar to those of portland cement concrete, the materials, selecting of proportions, placement, and curing must be such that sufficient expansion is obtained to compensate for subsequent drying shrinkage.
